About Durant Chapel Baptist Church
Durant Chapel Baptist Church is a traditional Baptist congregation in Bay Minette, Alabama, with roots dating to 1910, when it was founded as Durant Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. The church’s early history includes land donated by Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Steadham in 1909 and lumber for the first building given by Mr. G. W. Durant. Durant Chapel aligned with the Southern Baptist Convention in 1951. Its campus includes a parsonage just east of the sanctuary, and a 2005 building program added a fellowship hall, additional rest rooms, a new baptistry, and remodeled sanctuary space.
