About Calvary Baptist Church
Calvary Baptist Church is a Baptist congregation in Ninilchik with roots in the mid-1930s, when it began as a ministry primarily to children in the village. In the late 1950s, the church moved to its present location on the Sterling Highway across from the Three Bears Alaska store. The congregation describes itself as a Bible teaching, gospel preaching church, with a purpose of glorifying God and building up the saints through preaching and teaching the whole Bible. Children’s ministry remains part of church life, including special lessons during Sunday school and a nursery behind the fellowship hall. A fellowship dinner is held after morning worship on the first Sunday of each month.
