About Christ The Shepherd Lutheran Church
Christ the Shepherd Lutheran Church in Altadena is a welcoming congregation rooted in the ELCA tradition and a commitment to God's justice and inclusive community. Since the 1960s, the church has been a space where people of all races have worshiped together, and for over twenty years it has served as a Reconciling in Christ congregation that publicly welcomes LGBTQIA2s persons as guests, members, and leaders. The congregation partners with community ministries and organizations, hosts 12-Step groups, and is dedicated to caring for creation as part of the Lutherans Restoring Creation network. Christ the Shepherd invites all people—regardless of race, sexual orientation, gender identity, ability, or past—to join in worship and fellowship in the name of Jesus Christ.
