About Lutheran Church Of Arcata ELCA LC-MS
The Lutheran Church of Arcata is a welcoming ELCA congregation rooted in Arcata, California, dedicated to loving and serving all people through the teachings and example of Jesus Christ. This unique community represents a merger of two congregations that set aside different ethnic and synodical affiliations over 50 years ago to worship together in the spirit of Christian unity and God's grace. The church offers traditional Lutheran liturgical worship that blends contemporary music with beloved hymns, honoring both old and new traditions as the congregation journeys together in discipleship. Guided by God's Word, the community supports one another through life's challenges and celebrates together in times of joy, believing that following Jesus brings eternal life and fullness of life here on earth. Sunday worship services are held at 10 am, with additional evening prayer offered at 7 pm on Wednesdays during Advent and Lent, and children's Sunday school takes place during worship.
