About Benicia Lutheran Church
Benicia Lutheran Church is a member congregation of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod located in Benicia, California. Founded in 1980 by a group of fourteen visionary members, the church has grown into a close-knit faith community dedicated to making disciples of Jesus Christ through worship, education, witnessing, fellowship, and service. Under the pastoral leadership of Rev. James Pevy, who began his ministry in February 2026, the congregation gathers each Sunday at 9:00 am to worship together. The church emphasizes God's presence through the preaching of His Word, baptism, and communion, and welcomes both longtime members and new visitors into its family. Benicia Lutheran continues to reflect on its mission while responding to Christ's call for prayer, submission to God's will, and outreach to the surrounding community.
