About United Japanese Christian Church
United Japanese Christian Church in Clovis, California is a welcoming, multi-cultural community that traces its roots to two historic congregations serving Japanese immigrants and Japanese Americans—the Japanese Congregational Church founded in 1908 and the Christ United Methodist Church established in 1893. These two traditions merged in 1990 to create a unified congregation grounded in Jesus Christ's love, grace, and forgiveness. The church emphasizes family-centered ministry across all life stages, from infancy through adulthood, and prioritizes authentic relationships and spiritual growth within small group communities. Services are held Sundays at 10:30 AM both in person at 136 North Villa Avenue and online, welcoming all people regardless of background, dress, or personal history.
