About Hollister United Methodist Church
Hollister United Methodist Church, founded in 1869, is a welcoming community of faith rooted in the Methodist motto of "Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors." Located in historic downtown Hollister, the church embraces inclusion and serves people from all walks of life, including the LGBTQ community. Under the pastoral leadership of Joshua Baek, the congregation is guided by core values of acceptance, compassion, faith, unity, and love, following the teaching to love God and love one's neighbor. The church building houses the only pipe organ in San Benito County and serves both as a spiritual home and as a hub for community engagement. Beyond weekly worship, the church operates a preschool and offers various ministries including line dancing, student piano recitals, and opportunities for spiritual growth through Bible study and small group engagement.
