About La Jolla Methodist Church
La Jolla United Methodist Church Nursery School, founded in 1972, is an educational outreach of the church dedicated to serving families with young children. The school welcomes over 140 children ages two through five and their families, offering a play-based, developmentally appropriate program that nurtures physical, emotional, social, cognitive, and spiritual growth. The curriculum emphasizes child-centered learning where children construct knowledge through play, artistic expression, dramatic play, music, and exploration of the natural world. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education, the school views the environment as a teacher and staff as partners and guides in each child's learning journey.
