About Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church
Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church is also known as La Placita Church, Iglesia Nuestra Señora Reina de Los Ángeles. Located in Los Angeles, it is tied to the city’s earliest Catholic history: the first church built in Los Angeles was in the area of César E. Chávez Boulevard and North Broadway. A chapel begun in 1784 served the community until December 8, 1822, when the church at the current site was dedicated. The church was extensively remodeled in the 1840s. The parish is served by Rev. Arturo Corral-Nevarez, pastor, and Rev. Jose Stalin Vidal Peñaranda, associate priest.
