About Unitarian Universalist

Monte Vista Unitarian Universalist Congregation is an inclusive spiritual community located in Montclair, California, 30 miles east of Los Angeles. The congregation welcomes people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and life journeys, including those with theist and non-theist worldviews, as well as members from Pagan, Buddhist, and spiritual traditions. They gather each Sunday at 10:30 a.m. for hybrid worship services held both in their sanctuary and online via Zoom, creating space for babies, children, youth, and adults to participate together. The congregation emphasizes pluralism, affirms all people regardless of age, ability, belief, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, or family structure, and is recognized as a Welcoming Congregation with open hearts to LGBTQ persons. Monte Vista UU invites visitors to come as they are and to join their efforts to make the world a better place through caring hearts, open minds, and helping hands.

Dress Code: Come as you are. Service Format: Services include songs, speakers, music, meditation, sharing, an offertory, and a monthly Share the Plate collection supporting vetted organizations that align with the congregation's values; children are welcome at the beginning of the service and then excused to age-appropriate religious exploration activities. Visitor Tips: Arrive early to meet others; a Visitors' Table on the patio offers information about Unitarian Universalism and answers to questions; stay after the service for coffee, snacks, and conversation.
