About Buddhist Temple Of Salinas
The Buddhist Temple of Salinas is a Jodo Shinshu Buddhist community with deep roots in the region, having been established in 1924 by Japanese Issei pioneers. Today, the temple welcomes people of all backgrounds to listen to the Dharma together and embraces a mission centered on living a life of gratitude in the Nembutsu while sharing Buddhist teachings with others. Under the guidance of Rev. Hibiki Junkyo Murakami, the temple is experiencing an exciting period of growth that honors its traditional heritage while expanding to include a multicultural community. The temple maintains strong connections to its head temple, Nishi Hongwanji, located in Kyoto, Japan, and offers Dharma messages in both English and Japanese.
