First United Methodist Church of Santa Barbara, located in downtown Santa Barbara at 305 E. Anapamu Street, is a welcoming Methodist congregation that describes itself as "a caring church for thinking people." The church embraces the Coastal California style while maintaining a rich Methodist tradition and is a member of the Reconciling Ministries Network, committed to the full inclusion of all God's children regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, race, or background. FUMCSB offers worship services, online giving, family-based ministries, community outreach, and various educational and fellowship opportunities. The congregation seeks to help members see their lives through the eyes of faith while living out their beliefs through music, worship, study, fellowship, Christian caring, and service to the community.
