About Quaker-Friends Society
Quaker-Friends Society in Santa Barbara is an unprogrammed Quaker meeting where worshippers gather in contemplative silence, with space for vocal ministry when moved by the Spirit. The community meets on Sunday mornings for Meeting for Worship, offering both in-person and online participation through Zoom or telephone. Visitors and children of all ages are warmly welcomed into this peaceful gathering space. The meeting house is accessible to those with disabilities, and afterward, Friends share light refreshments and informal fellowship. The Santa Barbara Friends are deeply engaged in the Quaker testimonies of nonviolence, peace, and social awareness. Affiliated with the Southern California Quarterly Meeting and Pacific Yearly Meeting, this congregation reflects the broader Quaker tradition of seeking God's guidance through silence and communal discernment.
