About Church of Christ
The Church of Christ in Shafter, California, welcomes visitors into a congregation with deep historical roots in the community, tracing its origins to pioneering families like the Rogers family who gathered in homes, groves, and eventually built their own facilities beginning in 1946. The church emphasizes salvation through God's predetermined plan and the redemptive work of Christ, meeting for worship that centers on prayer, Communion, song, and spoken word as expressions of praise to God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Currently located at the northwest corner of Lerdo Highway and Beech Street, the congregation has grown and evolved over decades with numerous renovations and expansions to accommodate the family of believers. Sunday mornings feature a structured rhythm of classes, prayer, and assembly, reflecting the church's commitment to spiritual growth and corporate worship. The church maintains connections to the broader Spanish-speaking community through Iglesia de Christo ministry and provides ongoing spiritual resources including a prayer list and study guides for members and visitors alike.
