Mission Soledad, founded in 1791 by Father Fermin Lasuen as the thirteenth California mission, stands in the scenic Salinas Valley near Soledad. Nestled in the Santa Lucia Highlands wine country with Los Padres National Forest and Pinnacles National Monument nearby, the mission welcomes visitors to explore its historic grounds and gift shop staffed by volunteers. The church celebrates Mass on the first Sunday of each month at 10:00 am, with additional services on Christmas Eve and Easter. Visitors can acquire self-guided tours at the gift shop, which is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
