About United Church Of The San Juans
The United Church of the San Juans is a welcoming ecumenical community located in Ridgway, Colorado, affiliated with four mainline denominations: the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, United Methodist Church, Presbyterian Church (USA), and United Church of Christ. Founded in 2003 by a small group seeking to serve their community with traditional worship and openness to all believers, the church has grown to occupy its own sanctuary building dedicated in 2009 at the corner of Lena and Charles Streets. The congregation emphasizes Christian unity, compassionate service, and respect for individual dignity, engaging in diverse ministries from centering prayer to active outreach including food pantry support, habitat work, and disaster relief. Visitors of all faiths are welcomed to join Sunday worship at 10 AM, which is also videotaped and shared on Facebook, alongside opportunities for adult choir participation, discussion groups, and service involvement.
