About St Philip Church
St. Philip Church is a Catholic parish in Norwalk with a liturgical worship life centered on the Mass. The parish officially came into existence on August 21, 1964, when Bishop Walter W. Curtis created it from part of St. Mary Parish. Its first pastor was Father Leonard Conlon, with Father Robert Albert as assistant. Mass was first celebrated in the new church building on Easter Sunday, April 6, 1969, and Bishop Curtis formally dedicated the church later that year on November 16. The church building was designed by architect George J. Lechner of Lyons & Mather in Bridgeport. Parish programs include children’s ministry and a youth group.
