About Wilton Congregational Church
Wilton Congregational Church is a Congregational church in Wilton and part of the United Church of Christ. The congregation is Open and Affirming and describes its calling as living out the Gospel in relevant, contemporary ways. Its roots go back to 1726, when the right to establish Wilton Parish was granted. The sanctuary on Ridgefield Road was built in 1790 and is the oldest meeting house in Fairfield County still in use as a church. Later additions expanded the rear of the sanctuary in 1946, added Pilgrim Hall in 1952, and added more space in 2009. The church is independent in matters of doctrine and ministry within the UCC.
