About Mt. Salem United Methodist Church
Mt. Salem United Methodist Church in Wilmington, Delaware, has served its community since 1847, growing from the Brandywine Manufacturers' Sunday School movement into a vibrant Methodist congregation. Located in Rockford Park on West 19th Street, the church celebrated its 175th anniversary in 2022 and continues its mission to revive, renew, and extend traditional worship while exploring alternative Christian forms. Led by Pastor Reverend Darius Brown, Mt. Salem welcomes both longtime members and spiritual seekers, offering Sunday services at 11:00 AM both in person and online, along with various community ministries including music programs, a thrift shop called Tower Treasures, and neighborhood outreach initiatives focused on love, peace, charity, mercy, forgiveness, opportunity, and justice.
