St. Monica’s Episcopal Church in Cantonment has roots as a mission petitioned on February 16, 1954. Sixteen people attended its first Morning Prayer service on February 21 of that year, and the first Holy Eucharist in the new building was celebrated on August 26, 1956. The church’s building was dedicated on November 14, 1999, and parish status was granted on September 11, 2001. In 2024, St. Monica’s celebrated its 70th anniversary, marking decades of Episcopal worship and parish life in the Cantonment community.
