About St George Coptic Orthodox Church
St. George Coptic Orthodox Church in Daytona Beach has served the local Coptic Orthodox community since its founding in 1985, growing from a small group of five families. The church was consecrated by His Holiness Pope Shenouda III in 1991 and continues to operate under the leadership of the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of the Southern United States. Led by Father Isaac Bassily, who was ordained in 1990 to serve the Daytona Beach congregation, the church emphasizes worship, community service, and faith formation for all ages. St. George welcomes visitors into what it describes as God's house, where both longtime members and newcomers are invited to participate in the rich traditions of Oriental Orthodox Christianity.
