About Saint John The Apostle Mcc
Saint John The Apostle MCC in Fort Myers is a Metropolitan Community Church dedicated to radical inclusion, spiritual depth, and community care. The congregation explicitly welcomes LGBTQ+ individuals and allies in a non-judgmental, affirming environment rooted in the teachings of Jesus and guided by eight core spiritual principles: prayerfulness, welcome, inclusivity, generosity, spiritual living, sacramental grace, communal fellowship, and missional outreach. Under the leadership of Rev. Craig Cranston, the church offers blended traditional and contemporary worship on Sundays alongside educational programs exploring theology, faith in the modern world, spiritual practices, and racial justice. The congregation is known locally for its striking 100-foot inclusive rainbow driveway on McGregor Boulevard—a memorial to the 49 lives lost in the Pulse Nightclub shooting—and actively partners with regional organizations including the Harry Chapin Food Bank, Visuality Florida, and the Interfaith Alliance of Southwest Florida to serve the broader community.
