About Congregation Beth Shalom
Congregation Beth Shalom is a Rabbi-led Jewish congregation in Leesburg serving the Lake County area. The congregation describes its worship as a blend of Reform and Conservative liturgy, with services that combine modern and traditional customs. Its roots go back to the late 1940s and early 1950s, when twelve Jewish Leesburg merchants and their families gathered in homes for Friday night Sabbath services. For more than 70 years, it has been a place for area Jews to worship, learn, share, and grow. Rabbi Ronald N. “Reuven” Silverman serves as rabbi.
