About First United Methodist Church

First United Methodist Church of Orlando has been a spiritual presence in the heart of downtown Orlando for more than 140 years. The church is uniquely positioned at the intersection of government, the arts, commerce, education, and culture, where it seeks to love and serve the urban community. First Church welcomes and affirms the diversity of all people regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, ability, or faith history. The congregation celebrates two Sunday worship styles: a modern service at 9:30 am in the Contemporary Worship Center with contemporary music and praise bands, and a traditional service at 11:00 am in the Sanctuary featuring liturgies, vocal choirs, organ, and instrumental ensembles. Both services include communion on the first Sunday of each month, and childcare is provided for infants through fifth grade during worship.
