About Joy Lutheran Church-ELCA
Joy Lutheran Church, an ELCA congregation located in Palm Bay, Florida, was established in 1983 when six families from Peace Lutheran Church committed to starting a new congregation to serve the rapidly growing western portion of the city. Originally called Community Evangelical Lutheran Church and meeting at Lockmar Elementary School, the church was officially recognized as Joy Lutheran Church in 1984 under the leadership of Pastor Ronald Ryckman. Today, Joy Lutheran serves the Palm Bay community from its location at the corner of Jupiter and Eldron Boulevard with a diverse, active membership dedicated to vibrant outreach. The congregation's mission centers on joyfully reaching out to others in Christian love and service, reflecting both the caring nature of its family and its commitment to being a vital partner in the broader community.
