About Wesley Foundation
The UGA Wesley Foundation is a Methodist campus ministry in Athens, Georgia, dedicated to helping students encounter God, build authentic community, and grow as disciples of Jesus Christ. The foundation creates an environment where students can discover their spiritual gifts and use them for God's glory. Wesley offers two regular weekly services: Freshley on Monday evenings for freshmen, featuring worship and biblical teaching followed by small group discussions tailored to freshman college experiences, and Wesley on Wednesday evenings for all students, centered on worship, ministry time, and biblical messages typically organized around specific topics. Led by director Bob Beckwith, the ministry emphasizes relevant teachings grounded in the character of Jesus Christ. Beyond Sunday gatherings, the foundation encourages student involvement through various ministries and discipleship opportunities.
