About Savannah Presbytery Office
Savannah Presbytery is a Presbyterian governing body serving thirty-two active congregations across southeast Georgia and supporting more than sixty active and retired minister members. Based in Brunswick, the presbytery conducts official business through three stated meetings per year while coordinating educational and mission-related programs designed to engage, encourage, and equip congregation members and presbyters in vital ministry. The organization is part of the Matthew 25 movement within the Presbyterian Church (USA), committing itself to strengthening congregations, developing leaders, dismantling structural racism, and eradicating systemic poverty. With roots stretching back to 1736 when Scottish Highlanders established the first Presbyterian worship in Georgia, Savannah Presbytery carries a rich heritage of service to the church and community. The presbytery offers various events throughout the year, including the School of the Laity, Summer Camp, and Faith Enrichment Conferences, and welcomes individuals to participate through time, talents, and treasures in shared ministry.
