About St. James Lutheran Church
St. James Lutheran Church in Brunswick, Georgia has served its community since 1904, when a group of faithful believers first gathered in a rented loft downtown. The congregation has grown and relocated twice, most recently to its current home in Goodyear Park in 1955, where the sanctuary, fellowship hall, and educational spaces have been thoughtfully expanded over the decades. Today, St. James is known for its welcoming spirit and rich hospitality tradition, rooted in its Scandinavian heritage. The church embraces an inclusive theology as a proud member of Reconciling Works, Lutherans for Full Participation, and extends a warm invitation to all who seek community, worship, and service. Their mission centers on nourishing both body and soul through the Bread of Life, reflected in their educational programs, worship services, and commitment to serving others.
