About Lutheran Church-Good Shepherd
The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) located at 3099 Chapel Hill Road in Douglasville, Georgia. Founded in 1992, the church has grown from its beginnings at the Recreation Club in Arbor Station to its current chapel on Chapel Hill Road, which opened in 1997. The congregation welcomes everyone without exception, proclaiming that all people are created in the image of God and belong in the community of faith. Good Shepherd is deeply committed to serving those in need through its Daily Bread Ministry, which distributes food and supplies to homeless and under-housed individuals every Tuesday, averaging 1-2 tons of food monthly. The church also supports Operation Christmas for children in need, sponsors Boy and Girl Scout troops, and participates in various community assistance ministries. Under the pastoral leadership of Reverend Jamie Witt, Good Shepherd invites all who are weary and burdened to come and experience rest in God's house.
