About Jasper United Methodist Church
Jasper United Methodist Church, located in Jasper, Georgia, traces its roots back to 1860 when a log church building was completed on land donated by James Simmons, making it one of the earliest religious institutions in the community. The church has grown substantially over its history, including major renovations in 1949 and 1956, and achieved full-time pastoral leadership beginning in 1962. Today, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Sheila Crowe, the congregation engages in worship, Christian education through programs like Vacation Bible School, and extensive outreach ministries both locally and regionally. The church serves the Jasper area through numerous community partnerships, including support for the Good Samaritan Health & Wellness clinic, C.A.R.E.S. food distribution, and organizations serving vulnerable populations. Visitors will find a welcoming Methodist community committed to proclaiming the gospel through word and deed while equipping members for ministry.
