About Riverside Baptist Church
Riverside Chapel Baptist Church, located in Nahunta, Georgia, is a Baptist congregation with deep roots in the Brantley County community. Founded in 1943 from a simple gathering on a front porch, the church has grown from modest beginnings with pine log benches to a thriving congregation worshiping in a modern sanctuary. The church is rooted in Scripture and centered on Christ, with a mission to build people up and reach out to the community. Under the pastoral leadership of Thomas Kennedy, who returned to his home county in 2023, Riverside emphasizes preaching God's Word clearly, making disciples, and helping people live out the gospel in their everyday lives. The congregation gathers for worship and connection multiple times weekly, and the church actively invests in youth ministry and community service.
