About First United Methodist Church
First United Methodist Church of Pine Mountain has served the community since its founding as Chipley Methodist Episcopal Church South in September 1882, beginning in the home of Joe and Mrs. Story with just twenty attendees. The church has grown and evolved through multiple relocations and name changes, becoming First United Methodist Church of Pine Mountain in 1968. Today, the congregation welcomes families and individuals from all walks of life, emphasizing that visitors should come as they are. The church maintains an active community with dedicated ministries for children, youth, and adults, along with seasonal programming and mission opportunities. With a vision centered on creating disciples of Jesus Christ and transforming the community, First United Methodist Church invites newcomers to join their faith family and participate in worship and fellowship.
