About St John's Church
St. John's Church, founded in 1841 and consecrated in its present building in 1853, is an Episcopal parish in Savannah rooted in the historic Anglican tradition. The church is distinguished by its commitment to upholding classical Anglican worship as expressed through the 1928 Book of Common Prayer, featuring reverent liturgy with beautiful ceremonial, choral and congregational singing accompanied by pipe organ, and biblical preaching. Housed in an exquisite historic building adorned with stained glass and fine appointments, St. John's welcomes all to its worship services, which range from quiet meditative said services at 8 a.m. to the principal service at 10:30 a.m. featuring the full splendor of Anglican worship. Visitors are invited to experience this living legacy of historic faith and order, with nursery care available for young children and opportunities to explore the parish's historic buildings through guided tours.
