Shinshu Kyokai Mission of Hawaii was established on April 14, 1914, when twenty-five founding members, primarily Issei immigrants from Hiroshima, gathered to form a charter and establish their community of Jodoshinshu faithful. The mission traces its spiritual foundation to the teachings of Shinran Shonin, emphasizing a life of gratitude and reverence centered on Amida Buddha's Primal Vows and the promise of Universal Salvation for all sentient beings.
