Lutheran Child and Family Services of Illinois is a faith-based social services organization rooted in a 150-year heritage of compassion and community care. Founded in 1873 as the German Evangelical Lutheran Orphan Home in Addison, Illinois, LCFS has grown into the second-largest community-based child welfare agency in the state. The organization nurtures and strengthens children and families in need through foster care, adoption, counseling, preventative services, and youth emergency shelter across 16 locations throughout Illinois. Guided by Judeo-Christian values and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, LCFS serves people of all faiths, races, ethnicities, and backgrounds. The agency employs more than 400 dedicated staff members working to protect children, strengthen families, and build futures for those who have experienced trauma.
