About African Community, a United Methodist Church
African Community United Methodist Church, located at 4047 N. Keeler in Chicago, Illinois, is a welcoming faith community founded in 1997 and renamed in 1999. The church celebrates God's manifestations through African cultural expressions and serves as a home away from home for people of all races and ethnicities. With a mission to interpret the gospel effectively to all nations and build a community free from social injustice, oppression, and suffering, African Community UMC offers Sunday worship, Bible study, and prayer vigils throughout the week. The church maintains active ministries including women's and men's choirs, young adults groups, and youth and children's programs, inviting all to experience God's amazing love in a spirit of open hearts, open minds, and open doors.
