About Brent House
Brent House is the Episcopal chaplaincy center for the University of Chicago and surrounding seminaries, serving a diverse community of undergraduate and graduate students, alumni, and friends. As a ministry of the Episcopal Church, Brent House is fully inclusive of all genders and members of the LGBTQ+ community, welcoming people of all religious traditions or no religious tradition at all. Located in a historic house just blocks from the main campus quads, the community gathers for worship in a cozy basement chapel and shares meals together in the spacious kitchen, anchoring their cherished tradition of cooking and community building. Rev. Stacy Alan leads the spiritual life of the community, and visitors are invited to reach out for spiritual counsel, prayer, or general conversation. The ministry runs regular programming from late September through late May, with a resident community of seven graduate students and ongoing events that foster deep engagement with faith and community.
