About Ebenezer Baptist Church
Ebenezer Baptist Church is a Baptist congregation in Chicago’s Bronzeville neighborhood with contemporary worship shaped by gospel music and hymns. Led by Senior Pastor Rev. Darryl N. Person, the church offers programs for children and students from ages 6 months through high school, along with youth group and small groups. Ebenezer also has a notable place in gospel music history: the church says it was developed as a center for gospel music, where Thomas Dorsey introduced his blend of Christian praise and blues and started the first gospel choir.
