About Shrine Of St Jude Thaddeus

The Shrine of St. Jude Thaddeus is a Catholic shrine in Chicago staffed by the Order of Preachers, also known as the Dominican Friars. Opened in 1929, it was founded by Fr. William Marchant, O.P., who was then pastor of St. Pius V Parish. The shrine is dedicated to St. Jude Thaddeus and cares for what it describes as the largest relic of an Apostle outside of Europe on display at the Shrine. Worship is traditional, with English, Spanish, and bilingual offerings noted. A friar celebrates the Novena Mass of St. Jude nearly every Thursday of the year.
