About First Presbyterian Church
First Presbyterian Church in Farmington is a Presbyterian congregation with deep roots in the community, describing itself as a local landmark for more than 175 years. The church worships in a pre-Civil War brick house of worship and gathers for Sunday School and morning worship each Sunday. Its children’s ministry includes Vacation Bible School, which has served up to 43 children in a year. Congregational life also includes quarterly mission dinners organized by the Fellowship Ministry Team. Deacons extend care through nursing home visits, a card ministry, communion for shut-ins, and support for people who are grieving or in need.

First Presbyterian Church was established in 1836 in the small village of Farmington, Illinois. A Gothic brick and mortar building was erected and was fully completed by 1870.
