About First Presbyterian Church
First Presbyterian Church in Golconda is a traditional Presbyterian congregation with deep roots in southern Illinois. Organized on October 23, 1819, the congregation has welcomed seekers for more than 200 years and says it is the oldest continually worshipping Presbyterian congregation in Illinois. It is part of the Presbytery of Southeastern Illinois and gathers for worship on Sundays at 11:00 AM. The Lord’s Supper is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month and on Maundy Thursday evening during Holy Week.
