About Faith Evangelical Lutheran
Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church is an ELCA congregation in Homewood. Founded in 1952 by households worshiping in the VFW Hall, the congregation purchased property at 186th Place and Dixie Highway and dedicated its first building in 1953. Faith holds a notable place in Lutheran history as the first Lutheran church in the United States to call a woman to a regular ordained pastoral position in 1972. Pastor Amy Wiegert, who first came to Faith in 2017, became senior pastor in fall 2022. The church offers Sunday worship and children’s ministry, and its building is completely accessible.
