About York Center Church of the Brethren
York Center Church of the Brethren is a small, open and affirming congregation in Lombard within the Church of the Brethren, a Protestant denomination with a historic emphasis on faithful discipleship and community life. The church describes itself as “small but mighty” and maintains a long connection with Camp Emmaus in Illinois. Pastor Gay Bouwmeester is listed as pastor. A distinctive part of the congregation’s Brethren practice is Love Feast, held twice each year, which includes communion, a full meal, and foot-washing.
