Lutheran Child and Family Services of Illinois is a faith-based social services organization rooted in Lutheran tradition since 1873. Located in River Forest, Illinois, LCFS operates as the second-largest community-based child welfare agency in the state, serving thousands of individuals annually through foster care, adoption, counseling, preventative services, and youth emergency shelter. Guided by Judeo-Christian values and a commitment to mercy and compassion, LCFS works to protect children, strengthen families, and build futures for those who have experienced trauma. The organization maintains 16 sites across Illinois with more than 400 employees dedicated to nurturing children and families in need. LCFS welcomes people of all faiths, races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and gender identities as part of its inclusive, values-driven ministry.
