About Friends Meeting House
Bloomington Friends Meeting is a welcoming, progressive Quaker faith community located in Bloomington, Indiana, with roots dating back to 1950. The meeting practices unprogrammed worship, where members gather in silence to listen for the Spirit's leading, and visitors of all backgrounds are invited to explore and grow spiritually without judgment. With close to 100 members and attendees, the community is deeply committed to Quaker testimonies including peace, equality, integrity, community, stewardship, and simplicity. The meeting has a storied history of social activism, including anti-war efforts, support for local food pantries and community kitchens, and environmental stewardship. Today, the renovated meetinghouse on Moores Pike serves as a hub for both worship and fellowship, offering multiple gathering times throughout the week and a welcoming space for seekers from any religious background.
