About Jesus Saves Missionary Baptist
Jesus Saves Missionary Baptist Church in Gary, Indiana was organized on July 29, 1979, by Founding Pastor Elder W. E. Whitfield and incorporated in May of 1980. The church moved to its present location at 464 Roosevelt Street on February 22, 1981, and paid off its mortgage within two years through the Lord's blessings. Under the faithful leadership of Pastor Whitfield for over 42 years, the church developed a notable bus ministry that served the community with both short and long-distance trips. Following Pastor Whitfield's passing in February 2022, his daughter Evangelist Cassandra Davis was installed as Pastor in May 2022 and has since overseen significant facility improvements including handicap accessibility, kitchen renovations, and bathroom updates. The church remains committed to prayer, faith, and community service, with a strong emphasis on biblical instruction and the extension of the gospel.
