About St James Lutheran Church
St. James Lutheran Church is a vibrant community of faith in Lafayette, Indiana, with nearly 175 years of faithfulness to God's Holy Word and the Sacraments. A member congregation of The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and the International Lutheran Council, St. James embraces the Evangelical Catholic tradition of Lutheranism, teaching the ancient faith of the one, holy, catholic and apostolic church. The parish operates a classical Christian school serving preschool through eighth grade students in the Greater Lafayette area, reflecting its educational mission that began in 1850. Beyond worship, the congregation offers a rich array of ministries including Bible studies, youth groups, and the Order of Saint Vincent for acolytes and crucifers.
