About Sitka Baptist Church
Sitka Baptist Church is an independent Baptist congregation located at the corner of County Roads 500 North and 700 East, approximately one mile west of Indiana 39 north of Monticello. Founded in 1859 as Liberty Township Church and renamed Sitka Baptist in the early 1900s, this historic faith community has faithfully served the surrounding area for over 150 years. Under the pastoral leadership of Dr. James Elliott, the church currently maintains a membership of about 140 with approximately 75 people attending Sunday morning services. The congregation welcomes visitors to join them for worship, Bible study, and fellowship as they continue their mission to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.
