The Shrine of Christ's Passion is a multimedia interactive prayer trail located in Saint John, Indiana, approximately 35 miles from Chicago. Set on 30 acres, this Catholic spiritual destination features a half-mile winding pathway with 40 life-size bronze sculptures depicting the Passion of Christ, from the Last Supper through the Resurrection. Narrated by Chicago broadcaster Bill Kurtis, each station includes audio recordings and meditations set against dramatically landscaped gardens designed to evoke the Holy Land. The shrine also encompasses several additional attractions, including the Our Lady of Guadalupe Plaza, the Family Plaza, a Moses and Mount Sinai display, and the Sanctity of Life Shrine. Visitors can experience the journey at their own pace along paved, illuminated pathways, making it accessible year-round weather permitting.
