About Saint Joseph Church South Bend
Saint Joseph Parish is a dynamic Catholic community founded in 1853 by Holy Cross priest Father Edward Sorin in the heart of downtown South Bend, Indiana. With a rich tradition of worship, service, and education, the parish invites visitors to deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ and grow as a faith community. Saint Joseph is particularly proud of its parish grade school and preschool, which serve approximately 500 children in the Holy Cross educational tradition. The welcoming parishioners actively participate in liturgy, service ministries, and faith formation, creating a vibrant spiritual home.
